We go over a career that includes one of our favorite films 2003's THE RUNDOWN as well as 2010's FASTER, 2013's SNITCH, and his role in THE FAST & THE FURIOUS Action Series (specifically, the ridiculousness of Vin Diesel being able to kick his ass - Sorry Vin). We also talk his new film SAN ANDREAS as well as the horrible plans to revamp John Carpenter's 80's Classic BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA. With Mike Black there's no end to topics as we also discuss MAD MAX: FURY ROAD, video games, and what we have to look foward to over the rest of the summer. This was a hell of a good time. The summer has peaked! There's no way that it's going to get better than George Miller's new masterpiece, Mad Max: Fury Road; a film so beautifully imagined that it's impossible to anticipate anything better this summer.

To talk about the new film would be impossible without reviewing the previous two films, 1981's The Road Warrior and 1985's Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome. Sadly, I was unable to get a hold of a copy of the original Mad Max, but I think this is a pretty interesting talk, nonetheless. Take a listen and enjoy. Thanks for the continued support.

This week I got lucky enough to see a double feature of Ridley Scott's Alien (1979) and James Cameron's Aliens (1986) at The Historic Egyptian Theater. This was an amazing experience and one that let me see, firsthand, how incredibly different these two films are from one another. I've been threatening it for the past few weeks, but I've finally made good on my promise to tackle Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction. So this week - with nothing but shit in theaters - I go into the library and talk one of the most influential films in cinema history. I go back and forty in my appreciation for this movie, and I have to admit that this hour and twenty minutes of talk don't make it any clearer . . . but it was a hell of a good time doing it. Coming to the end of the month, People. Allergies starting up, but I can't be stopped. Today I talk a Director I had previously written off . . . Tim Burton. After catching a revival screening of his 1994 masterpiece (at least I think it's a masterpiece) Ed Wood, a film that celebrates both filmmaking and blind perserverance, I knew that I had to talk about this films. I also get a bit into his 2003 film Big Fish, a good chance at re-visiting a film that I had - mostly - forgotten about.
