Watch This With Rick Ramos

Merry Christmas WatchThis fans. This week your beloved host, Rick Ramos, sits down on the last night of his visit with Momma and Poppa Ramos to discuss Christmas and the Movies that have come with this Wonderful Time of Year. We get down with a whole lot, but focus our attention on Joe Dante's 1984 hit GREMLINS, Terry Zwigoff's warped Christmas Masterpiece from 2003 BAD SANTA, and finally round it out with Bob Clark's 1983 Holiday Classic A CHRISTMAS STORY. Rick also rambles on for an hour and forty discussing the beauty of the Christmas Season while sucking back a few GUINNESS. Enjoy the second to last episode of 2014. A Million Thanks!

This week WatchThis host Rick Ramos cracks open a bottle of Jack Daniels and dishes on Chris Rock's recent Directorial Effort TOP FIVE as well as the Magic & Beauty of Stand-Up Comedy. He also take a look at the filmography of Paul Thomas Anderson's including HARD EIGHT, BOOGIE NIGHTS, MAGNOLIA and PUNCH-DRUNK LOVE as well as - the incredibly dissapointing - INHERENT VICE. Listen in on one of the few times where Ramos allows himself to lose it over the dissapointment and hatred for a movie while at the same time extolling the virtues and his love for a filmmaker's previous work. Enjoy!

This week WatchThis host, Rick Ramos, jumps back onto the podcast adventure with a vengeance! After a brief discussion (and apologies) of why he's been offline for the past week, Ramos gets back into the ring and starts swinging. Acknowledging the lack of quality films in theatres at this time, he expounds on the briliiance of the ONLY good film in theatres right now - Jennifer Kent's THE BABADOOK. From that point on he gets into the beauty of 70's & 80's Action Maestro WALTER HILL. Profiling Hill's '73 Directorial Debut  HARD TIMES, 1981's SOUTHERN COMFORT, and the '83 Classic 48HRS. Rounding out with his Favorite Movie Monologue - The Late/Great PETER FALK - from 2002's UNDISPUTED. Have Fun!

We double up the episodes this week on WatchThis. Today I'm thrilled and honored to have Maryum "May May" Ali - daughter of 3-time World Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali - step into the Fortress of Ultimate Darkness. We talk the new documentary I AM ALI, as well as our mutual times at The World Famous Comedy Store and her current career in social work and public speaking. We talk the history of her father, his religion, Vietnam, and (difficult for Rick) the rivalry and Ali's treatment of former heavyweight world champion "Smokn'" Joe Frazier.
